Quick Start Guide

Set up compliant age verification in 6 simple steps

Install the App

Install AgeVerify Shield from the Shopify App Store. Click 'Add app' and confirm the permissions. The app needs access to products, collections, and theme settings.

💡Installation is free - you can start with the Free plan and upgrade anytime.

Enable App Embed

Go to your Theme Editor (Online Store → Themes → Customize) and enable the AgeVerify Shield app embed. You'll find it under 'App embeds' in the left menu.

💡The embed must be active for the age verification modal to appear!

Create Your First Rule

Open the AgeVerify Dashboard and create your first age rule. Choose the scope (e.g., global, collection, or product), set the age limit, and activate the rule.

💡Start with a global rule for 18+ to protect all products, then refine as needed.

Customize Theme (optional)

Customize the age verification modal appearance to match your brand. Choose colors, upload your logo, and adjust texts. Templates help you get started quickly.

💡Use the live preview in the theme editor to see changes instantly.

Test in Preview Mode

Open your store in preview mode and test the age verification. Check different scenarios: under 18, over 18, different products and pages.

💡Use the Rule Tester (Basic plan and up) to simulate rules without real visitors.

Go Live!

Once everything works, your age verification is ready for real visitors. Check the dashboard regularly for statistics and adjust rules as needed.
